“Kapoose Creek Bio is named after the beautiful location of its research station, set in a temperate rainforest rich in fungi on Vancouver Island, Canada….Eric Brown, a biochemist at McMaster University in Hamilton, Canada, who is now chief executive of Kapoose Creek Bio, remembers his first field trip to its research station. “I thought, OK, I’m not changing the name of the company because it’s perfect. When investors or stakeholders see pictures of the field site, they get how inspiring the place is and why we have focused on the location for the name.”
